Day 3 second attempt
Day 3 second attempt
Today I'm on day 3, which was where I fell down last time, a few months ago.
I was trying to keep my normal social life but without drinking. In hindsight this was doomed to fail. This month I'm avoiding the bars and pubs until I feel stronger.
Nothing major had happened since last time I was posting. But I'm still drinking 5 nights a week!
I've joined the gym and looking to replace socialising in a pub with the gym.
Anyway, just really wanted to pop in and see how you all are as well

Hi Natom
I haven't considered any help like that. I suppose I could look into a day/weekend course in London to give me some tools.
Thanks for the advice, I'll do a google later to see what's about.

Hi Sazzle,
I think you are definitely right to avoid pubs and bars if you are finding it difficult to be in those situations. I know that when I first got sober I tried to continue with the old social life I had, and frequented the same places with the same people. I found it uncomfortable and boring, and very, very rarely now go to those places at all unless it is for a specific reason, for example someone's birthday. I just have no interest in it now - my social life is totally different now and involves places which don't sell alcohol!
Keep going - you can do this.

I'm going to AA on Thursday evening. I've spoken to a friend who already goes and she's going to introduce me. I'm nervous but if my friend can do it, so can I
Thanks for the support guys, you all rock!
