Struggling. I realize my alcohol intake in the recent days may require detox for my safety, but I can't take time away from my family to do it.

I had a productive day after a sober night, making personalized gift bags for the kids' halloween parties. Made meals, and cleaned the house. All the while, drunk.

I need help. I realize that it is up to me find local resources. Just wanted to check back in with you all.

My doctor gave me medicine to take at home during the first few days, and I decreased the amount over a few days until I wasn't taking it anymore. Have you spoken to your doctor?

It is a really tough situation to be in but this sort of stuff happens all the time. You are sick and you need time to get better. What is your support network like? Who knows about your situation?

I'd second talking to your doc and seeing what your options are.
