Just an Old fashion girl

Hi out there. I have been really not trying as hard as I could. I did not drink last nite, but only because I have a cold and don't feel well. As I was leaving for work this AM I watched my husband mix a drink to take his pain pills. He says he's in a lot of pain. I think he's addicted. The doctors haven't found any cancer in him for 2 years now. But they keep him drugged up. As I was leaving I was thinking how nice life would be if I just had a place of my own. In a way I do. I work in two separate offices and have keys for both. But you can't work all the time. I still have to go home. Besides I'm too old now to start over.
I guess I just need to focus on the good.. I have all of you. Thank God for that.
Thanks for listening
Diana

You're never too old to start over. I've seen people in their 60's and 70's do it. I've heard about people who got clean a few years before they died just do they could die clean and sober.

Oh gosh I think about having my own place all the time.

I even plan how I would like to it to look...

A purple gloss kitchen.
A free standing bath
Tons of green leafy plants and exposed brick work.

I even like to imagine having my own little old fashioned gypsy caravan too!
Inside it would have a little stove, a comfy chair and a cosy bed.
I often visulise it when I cannot sleep and trying to drop off.
It's cold outside, the wind is whipping round and it is raining and I am sat in my little caravan with the wooden doors bolted, reading near my stove with a lamp on.

I hear you! xx

Are you saying you think it's harder for you to quit because your husband drinks too Diana?
