Hello

I just joined because I am so ill and realize that I am sick from addiction. I took herbal opiates, vicodin and drank cognac saturday...threw up all day sunday and continue to be nauseaus, restless, sleepless, I cannot eat and I have aches and pains, and feel very depressed. Right now the thought of taking even a tylenol makes me physically ill and I definitely do not want to drink as I am so ill. I wonder if I did so much that i will never feel good again. I do know this, I have a terrible problem and I need help....this is the beginning....and I wonder why I have never allowed myself to be happy without help....

Welcome hopefulmarie!

Sometimes we have to get totally miserable before we're willing to make a change. I'm glad you decided to join. It takes courage to reach out for help, but I know you'll find a lot of support here - you're not alone and we know how hard it is to get sober. You can do it, though - and things really will get better.

Keep reading and posting!

((hopefulmarie)) - I know I had to get REALLY miserable before I chose to change. SR has been a huge part of my recovery.

Keep reading and posting, you're among people who "get it"

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

Welcome to SR marie
good to have you here.

If you feel really bad, or concerned, it might be a good idea to see a Dr, first off - being sick since the weekend is not a good way to be.

Welcome, you are at an important phase. Not drinking may seem impossible right now - we have all been there. Try and get yourself to a meeting if you can. Just hearing others describe their experience, strength and hope can be a great feeling...stick around, god bless.
