5 years sober-thanks SR!

5 years and a bit sober....and it started right here....I remember my first post and the first few wonderful, amazing, encouraging people who responded to it and are still around here today...wish I had more time to devote to being here, and also admire the gift of being short and to the point (which I don't possess) which would make my thoughts a bit more useful, I think, when I do have time to post them

....but anyway....THANKS AND LOVE to everyone who has been part of my journey, especially S, S, J and D. You guys know who you are. I love you! Jomey

Thanks, everyone, for the good wishes!

Sapling, I mainly got sober because I was sick and tired of being sick and tired, as they say. I have used a combo of AA, AVRT, religious faith, and SR to stay with my sobriety.

God, as I understand Him, I do believe has removed the obsession for me, for which I am unendingly grateful.

Enough "life" has gone by, also, that I can see where I used to drink as a crutch to self-medicate anxiety, it never worked, of course. Only made the anxiety and the problems that were causing it a lot worse.

I think a lot more carefully these days before I act and speak, and that makes life a lot more simple, also.

Thanks for asking....I could go on and on in self-exploration, but I may just have to confine that to a chapter or two in my journal! LOL
