Art ideas anyone?
Art ideas anyone?
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if any started doing art in one form or another after becoming sober.
It would greatly help me occupy my mind. I am thinking of painting. To express my inner self, to let stuff out. Colors? Any other ideas of art? Thinking also of writing.
When I look at it, writing would be more "me", but painting would be a new experience. I am a totally cluless about painting, would learn from scratch.
I am into metals myself, and would gladly do Metal sculptures, but my workshop & forge is in a different city right now, about 21/2 hr drive from where I live, so this is out of the question, for now. In 3 years, I will buy a large container (meaby before that) put my workshop inside so that I can always bring it with me. Might accomodate a living space on top. My own tiny house, which is more and more popular and can be quite beautiful. Another idea (after the container) is to buy a barge, put the workshop inside and live on top. On the waterways. Projects projects..
I just thought I'd share my interest for art. If any have had the same idea, what they do. Is it helpful for recovery?
Have a very nice day to all of you,
wolfram

Hi, Wolfram.
I believe art is a great idea, I am also thinking about painting just as some absolutely new exprience to me, something to set free my subconscious and express my feelings in a new way. A friend of mine (not alcoholic, but workaholic) recently started to attend painting classes for grown-ups on Sundays to stop doing about his job 24/7.
I am writing short stories for my blog, but writing is a kind of profession to me, since I've graduated as a specialist in linguistics and work as a copywriter now. So, my mind is preoccupied with writing all day long and it does not help me much in recovery, apart from writing here).
I wish you to make a reality of your projects.
Have a good day.

I have often thought about trying water colors but being the tired butt I am I have done nothing to move forward. Just cause you sober does not change bad habits like prorcrastination
