Uh Oh first weekend

Ok so this will be my first weekend sober in a loooong time. Not sure what to do with myself as me and the hubby usually spend our weekends drinking. He is still drinking but is understanding when I tell him I can't be going to bars etc.

Sooo whats a girl to do?

For me, planning the weekends without Booze were key early on. Plan a movie night? Cook a romantic dinner for both of you, booze free of course. make sure a grea dessert is included. Both of you will enjoy it it and have a glimpse early on of how much better sober life is.

Ever consider AA? Meetings and activities within the fellowship were a huge help during the weekends and times when I drank the heaviest.

To keep it really simple...What's a girl to do? Anything but drink. Sky's the limit!
Weekends are the hardest, but get easier over time. You can do this!

Going to my 3rd one today.I will go to mtgs. both mornings on the weekend but there are alot more hours in the day! Plus, I dont wanna leave hubby out altogether as he is my buddy whether drinking or not.
I have too much free time I know. What am i sposta do.Shop?
When you have a drinking spouse theyare not as likely to wanna do things like movies etc. cuz theres no booze involved.

Is he not willing or unable to not drink for an evening or two to support you?

My first sober weekend in years too. I am planning meetings tonight and tomorrow as those were my biggest drinking days and have planned a ton of non drinking activities to keep myself busy the rest of the weekend. Going to the gym, errands, shopping, maybe finish the painting I started awhile ago but never finished because I was always too shaky.

You can always rent a movie and get carryout for the two of you.... I tackled a lot of projects (like cleaning out closets) on the weekends, but I know I didn't always feel like cleaning/working. Do you have any interests?

Right after I got sober, I picked up knitting. It gave me something to do when I felt bored or restless in the evening. It was therapeutic and as it turned out I was able to make scarves for everyone for Christmas. Started making jewelry, too, which can be fun.....
