I just need to say this.

I am not the best at keeping track of my sober time, mostly because my way of coping is to push alcohol out of my mind during the day and pat myself on the back at night and say.. we did it.

but i calculated my time of my new life and its 46 days!!!! Where did the time go! I'm so happy. It's so much easier now, ( I'm not saying it's a cake walk but it's nowhere near where I was for the first week. I now go hours without thinking about alcohol. This is spledid.. just stinking splendid.

I even worked out today when I woke up, I never would have done that when I was drinking. I'm so dang proud of us guys! I feel the sunshine and I'm healthy I'm not such a sad sack of ... sad.

I never thought I would be here.. never in a million years did I think I could do this.. I was fully prepared to drink until I died.. I got a second chance... and so does all of us... we just have to put the bottle down and pull our big kid pants up and fight for our lifes.

Some people may say it's ONLY 46 days sober.. I say HOLY GOODNESS it's 46 days!!!!!!!

Look up "On Top of the World" by Imagine Dragons on YouTube.. it's my song of the day. I would post a link but I haven't a clue how to.

Have a good day

46 days IS huge, ragamuffin. The fact that you're cheerful and upbeat is wonderful to see.

Thanks for the post. I don't even know you (except through your posts) but I am still very happy for you! I love the positive and grateful attitude. We need to celebrate the good things of recovery and of life.

Ragamuffin, I remember when you were three days sober, in chat, do you? I am so pleased for you! You should feel proud of yourself and I think you do. Well done!

I remember well the feeling you are having and I am really glad for you. 46 days IS a long time especially compared to the old feeling that you couldn't make it through one. I also know the feeling of it being not so long. I am creeping up on 6 months and have that same feeling. Compared to the length of time that I was loaded it seem so small but remember when you made it to 7 days? I remember mine. I was so full of myself and feeling so good. I felt that I was seeing the world through different eyes and it felt so cool. Now those eyes are mine all the time.

Congratulations on your 46 days. You undoubtedly thought you would never get there and now you are. Life really is good without all the crap we put in our bodies isn't it?

The first mountain has been climbed but there is always another one. Now we have to remember this feeling and stay sober. Never let your guard down. The beast is ALWAYS waiting.

ragamuffin,
Thanks for sharing, gratitude for every sober day shines though in your post. from never thinking you could go one day without drinking to 47 days is a miracle.

Good for you
Love

That is absolutely fantastic!
It's amazing how the fog lifts & the sun starts shining in our minds once we break free from alcohell.

Thank you everyone for being so stinking supportive. I don't know if I would be here without all of you. I'm learning all of your names and enjoying all of your company.

And yes fresh of course I remember!!! That was quite a day, I was full of doubt that day.

I also know about the beast.. I am very well aware of her. Although, I don't like to giver her more attention then she needs ya know?

Yay for us!!!
