Just now getting sober

So I have been sober since 9:00 PM on the 16th of October. I'm almost at 48 hours. I've had about two bottles of wine (1 bottle of 18% port and a bottle of white wine) for the past 6 months and before that about a bottle of port wine a night.

At 48 hours, I have sweaty hands and a foggy head. Also a slight headache. But the worst is the craving. I wonder if I will have serious symptoms. I have had lots of juice, nuts, multi vitamins, and water. I've mostly drank after 5:00 PM.

Do I need to worry?

Check with your Dr if you can. I best to you

It is better to speak with your doctor, not trying to scare you just be careful.

Hi Json :)

I moved your thread here.

Noone here is a Dr so we can't really give you a guarantee - if you feel concerned a professional opinion is always your best bet.

I agree with all the above. I am not a doctor and cannot give you an accurate explanation. Best to be safer than sorry in my experience. Sometimes it's not what you want to hear but you would rather know starting now than always worrying about things.

my family doctor was wonderful. he was very happy with my and my decision to get sober. it was a bit embarrassing coming out and admitting it but i felt really good afterwards admitting it to another person. he also put me in touch with some resources in addition to making sure i was physically okay.

I dont feel sick or anything. I think I'll ride it out tonight. I was told by a doctor a few months ago that if I felt ok (not shaking, hallucinating or anything.) to keep going. But I have been drinking more since then.

I was just curious of anyone had anything to compare my experience to.

I think mostly everyone can identify with how you're feeling now Json :)

Oh thank you. I am also looking for good motivation to stay sober. These stories are part of why I decided to quit.
