New to this site 
Hi, I am new to this site. It seems a little overwhelming as there are so many different topics. But I will start here by introducing myself. I have 1 month plus 3 days of sobriety. I just got off prescription pills (narcotic pain killers and bennodiazapine) for the second time in my life. The first time was 15 years ago and sobriety was good. Only I stopped going to meetings and my priorities changed and not for the better. So here I am again. Besides just going to f2f meetings, I would like to be more internet friendly and reach out online as well. I welcome all who experienced what I have and then some!

Hi Hiwa,
Glad you found us here and big congratulations on your sober time. It sounds like you're doing great. This is a great place to hang around for inspiration and support. I'm a recovering alcoholic, but I know there are others here who share your experience. If you like you might check out the Substance Abuse forum on this board too. Keep posting.

Anna, I am also an alcoholic as well. Thank God I didn't pick up a drink this time around, it would have been so much harder to get back on the recovery track. One of the reasons I took myself to detox last month was so I wouldn't end up drinking again!

Welcome to SR! I could really ID with what you posted.I relapsed after six years in recovery,but unlike you eventually I drank again as well as becoming addicted to prescription drugs.It was one heck of a ride!!!Glad you are back!

Hi I am seeking information, HELP for a family member. I feel if we do not do something now he will die. want to confront, get him in a rehab. hopefully! he has no Insurance and the family have little funds.

I am indigo and i am an alcoholic and addict too, I dropped the drugs long before the alcohol though. I have gained such splendid support and made friends on this site, a big welcome from me .
