NO a drink will not help...but I wanna still!

I am tired of being tired and the damn ringing in my ears will not stop....I don't know what a pink cloud is but whatever it is, I clearly am NOT on it......grrrrrrr......I would love some wine, but it's not an option anymore! I don't know what it is this time of the evening but apparently I need to quit pissing and moaning and find something better to do than drinking and hanging out on the internet....I realize there are people in this world who are way worse off than me and I feel guilty for even typing this...but ya know...some days it really sucks to be me!!

Hey Lola.. I haven't been on in a few days (I couldn't seem to log on!)

You are doing great, I'm proud of you. And it's okay to **** & moan, because it's hard.

I'm the same way as you are, it's that certain time of day.. right around 4pm for me.

Anyway - just wanted to say "Hey Girl" & send ya a hug. You are rocking it.

Brightest Blessings..

- Sparky

Thanks Sparklelina!!! I am just such a ball of energy, alcohol actually helped in some ways, I think it's because of my ADD, I gotta get back into some of the hobbies I enjoy!

The mornings are always decent but for some reason I am a bitchy mess in the evening...sigh...

lilgolden73 10-18-2012 03:16 PM

I feel like screaming!! Double BOO!

waynemali 10-18-2012 03:30 PM

Lola,

There will always be times when you feel like it's getting too much, I still get moments like that, but as time goes on you will learn to deal with them without reaching for a bottle.

The first few weeks are hard, my withdrawals didn't kick in until about the third week, they lasted about three weeks, I wanted to scream, I couldn't deal with them, I even cried in Church in pain, I couldn't hold it in anymore, I came close to giving in. If you've read my Blog you will see.

But hang in there, find something to do to keep you occupied, I walk alot and now I'm writing alot, I keep a journal every night, highlighting the good bits of my day and the bad, it just seems to help.

Stay strong, I will pray for you.

i colored a lot! like a second grader. so strange. i just had to keep my hands busy and my mind blank. it was pretty soothing. now a days i'm usually starting dinner and getting the kitchen cleaned up or some such. i'm sorry you're having a rough one. frustrations in early sobriety are a real pain in the butt! i'm glad you're here and venting though. sure beats the alternative!

lilgolden73 10-18-2012 04:20 PM

Well I just made dinner....the kitchens a mess, guess I will go get a diet coke...big fun I tell ya!

DisplacedGRITS 10-18-2012 04:31 PM

well, kitchen cleaning isn't my favorite thing in the world but i remember when i was drinking and how bad the kitchen would get. or when i would clean drunk and how long it would take or how i was just tuned out and a total zombie. personally, i try to be present in whatever i'm doing. for me, when it's cleaning time i turn on some music and try to eek out a little joy. i have been known to sing into a spatula from time to time. you don't have to revel in the mundaneness of an everyday task if you don't want to. it's up to you to make your attitude. it's hard in the beginning so don't think i'm here giving you a rough time. i understand you 'cause i've been there as well. perhaps tonight you could pull up some funny youtube clips and get a few laughs in? i had to remember to let myself smile in the early days. it's too easy to get caught up in misery and frustration and forget that you're allowed to smile too.

lilgolden73 10-18-2012 04:36 PM

I know your right...I need a better attitude....I wish alcohol was my only issue...I am a mess...I think.it started around birth " once upon a time". hahahaha

DisplacedGRITS 10-18-2012 04:42 PM

it's ok. any recovery starts with a first step. you're here and you're trying so give yourself credit where credit is due. :)

lilgolden73 10-18-2012 04:56 PM

I have never been good at being nice to myself, trying though

Itchy 10-18-2012 05:09 PM

Peace!

Natom 10-18-2012 05:11 PM

Lola,

You get your alcoholism and you beat the everloving crap out of it. Like bang kaplow!!!! Smash it up. Don your suit of armour and fight!!!! Or at least thats how I battle mine lol

lilgolden73 10-18-2012 05:14 PM

Very good plan....now what do I call myself as a superhero? And of course the outfit will have to be extra cute.....hmmmmmm

joemama68 10-18-2012 05:16 PM

I know what you are feeling as I have felt the same way lots of times. Someone once said, "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning how to dance in the rain."

lilgolden73 10-18-2012 05:18 PM

I love that quote!

Quinne 10-18-2012 05:34 PM

You're on here & that's great :) I'm sorry you're having a rough time, remember that it will pass! X

lilgolden73 10-18-2012 05:35 PM
