In A New York Miinute

...everything can change. Says it all, really (have to vent for a minute, k?) Phone conversation. Cold. Hurt. Would LOVE a drink right now more than you know (well, my guess is a lot of you do...). Went outside, looked at the stars, and thought. Everyone says, "Don't beat yourself up." Umm, I'm the pro. Yeah, this person is not healthy for me at all. Neither is having a drink, damn it. (Sorry, had to cuss mildly.) Oh well. Didn't drink. Harrumph. What can I "control" -- the communication with this person. ("Changing the things I can," and folks, I KNOW the difference here :p

Thank you, SR-ites. VERY glad you're here.

Sometimes when you don't know what to do just doing nothing is the best option

A great opportunity to reach out to the serenity prayer, as you've aptly done here, rather than reaching for a drink. Well done, 427, you got this!

Sounds like you were stuck between two rocks and managed to slide out from between them. That's the problem when facing a bad situation and another bad situation. You just have to get out of there anyway you can.
