Appointment Scheduled and Found Two Possible Meetings
Okay, I took that first step to get help outside of this forum and myself. My appointment is at 11, and I need to be there at 10:30 to do s computer questionnaire. I have also found a 12 and 12:30 meeting for women. It says they are closed meetings for alcoholics, and those wanting to stop drinking, I hope I am allowed to just attend.
I am a little nervous about the doctor appointment, actually, embarrassed. I need to let to of that and not worry about being judged.
I am also planning on competing in a maniac race tomorrow with my sister in law, I was going to skip it because I figured, I would need to be up too early on a Saturday to drive there, but since I will NOT be drinking tonight, this wont be a problem. It is an adventure race that I did not train the way I should have (yes, I have alcohol to thank for that as well.) I figure even if I am the last one to finish that is okay. It will also give me time to have fun in a healthy way, and I think I may share my day today with her as we walk, run, and attempt to get over obstacles. The more I think about it the obstacles are kind of symbolic with where I am in my life right now.
I am going to head out now and go to the bookstore before my appointment. I will let all of you know later how things went at the doctor and at my first meeting. If anyone knows a little more s out the closed meeting I would appreciate the info.

Good for you Delilah! It's not easy to take those first actions steps, but you'll be so glad you did. Go easy on yourself tomorrow - just enjoy the race and don't push too hard. You're doing great!
