There Should be A Delivery AA or Something Like a take and bake. Like I can not walk today. think godness for SR. I had my dream of being a POW and getting out. Life is a trip. mostly fell on it. |
like a Meals on Wheels? |
Ugh. Even if I wanted to go to AA meetings, it would be hard for me because I can't drive right now (vision/balance problems) and a car is an absolute necessity where I live. Fitz, sorry about the POW dream. Is there an event that has triggered your PTSD? It seems to be hitting you hard right now, but I've only been on the boards here for about three months. |
IT i9s okay free and sober. Weather is changing and have a arm hurting but will live with it. I did want to drink but got past it so it is all good Semper Fi |
AA should make house calls maybe? :) I'm sorry you had the dream - glad you didn't drink over it. It's a great day when we finally realize it brings us no comfort. |
We have exactly that in my area. It’s a group of people who take a meeting to folks who are homebound, hospitalized or otherwise unable to make a meeting. I would encourage others to consider starting this type of mobile meeting in your respective areas. Call your local AA office. It may already exist where you are now! |
Glad you got past it! Do you like Michael Franti? Michale Franti And Spearhead (Everybody Ona Move) - YouTube This is a fun song, it's stuck in my head. I listen to it in the car a lot lately. |
My sponsor says, "This is not Dominos (MI pizza chain) we do not deliver." I was part of a delivered meeting to someone's house before. One of the old timers was not doing well (he died sober) and a group of us took a meeting to him. It was very cool. The fellowship is wonderful |
MIRecovery, that's great. I would love to do something like that. |
Ummm....the big book....wasn't that the whole idea? They put AA in a book and then delivered it to whoever wanted it. You get the book and then you've got AA wherever you are.:lightbulb |
