maybe I'm hopeless
Never think you're hopeless, as long as we are alive we can still find sobriety!
Once after a relapse I went to my doctor feeling defeated and ashamed. While I was in the room waiting for the doctor, the nurse came up to me and said "We'll you're here. which means you still want help. It's when you stop wanting help that it is time to worry".
I've always kept that nurse's words in the back of mind whenever I start to feel hopeless. Don't give up, you can do this!

Thank you, all. The responses are really helping me to get through the day. Work doesn't hurt, either. I'm trying to focus on right now, not this evening not tomorrow and not next week. I will eat a healthy lunch, get to the gym (exercise is a sure way to bust the blues and keep me from wanting anything to drink except water) and maybe a meeting tonight, though I'm on the fence about going back to meetings.
Thanks, all.
Thanks, all.
Welcome back Lilac. I tried and failed several times, you just have to draw a line under it, learn from it and move on. Falling down isn't failing, staying down is failing. You're stronger than you think, you were strong enough to come back here and tell us about it! Really, if I can do this so can you, I'm on day 50 something now and life is so much better. You certainly are not hopeless and you are not on your own either. We are all here for you and for each other.
Read and post as much as you can on here and get all the help you can.
Big hugs
