I'm on day 16 (!!) and tonight I'm going to my first AA meeting since quitting drinking. I want to make the terminology switch from "quitting drinking" to "getting sober," so it's important for me to get involved in AA. The thing is, I'm nervous as HELL. I'm nervous about being the youngest one in the room, about not clicking with the other members -- pretty much everything you'd expect from a first timer.

Can you please please send some positive thoughts my way? I'm over the detox hump and my cravings are getting weaker every day, but I know long term success depends on my ability to put myself out there to receive and give support.

Not sure how old you are, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is someone younger there. There was a 16 year old at my first meeting.

No pressure. Just go and enjoy. If you don't 'click' with the members don't be discouraged. Just keep going and you'll find that different meetings have different kinds of people in them. Good luck!
