There's a major art college right next to the Royal Albert Hall. All these years of living in London and I never noticed that until yesterday.

How visible my fingerprints are on my skin. Yeah, I spent a lot of time today just staring at my fingers instead of working.

Just making it another 24 hours, I know sounds cliché, but was a reality when someone I know is trying very hard in our treatment group. And has over 30 days of clean time, He was at a funeral this weekend & did drugs with his family that he hadn't seen since he got sober. This Big Tough 300lb man sat across from me & broke down in tears of shame & guilt for his relapse.

Today I am just reminded that every sober minute no matter how small, is a blessing.

Peace
~Jules

Haha, I'm glad Lizella. We need all the laughs we can get with this cold London weather!

Jules - you're so right. Every 24 hours I have sober is such a blessing to me. That guy did really well to come back to the group and be so honest with you all. I've found that me being honest with myself and others is a great tonic for the shame & guilt I still feel over my drinking days so I hope that with the support of you and your group he will realize that this too will pass.

I notice that its okay to be different. That, being different doesn't mean I don't belong.
Being different is not an excuse to give up and drink.

That I don't need to create an internal drama about being victimized by circumstances, in order to be worthy.

I notice the friends that peer pressure me to drink the most.

Also i notice the people who drink the least.

When I took the trash out this morning I noticed something different - no "klink, klink, klink" of all the glass bottles inside.

I notice things I thought were beyond my grasp to do or learn, often are not.

The smell of bacon cooking as I make breakfast, which I can now wake up and do without feeling like crap, or staying in bed until I had to get up and get to work.

I love the mornings now. I used to hate them.
Also, I love having energy during the day instead of feeling all dragged out.

My intellectual curiosity has come back. In fact my curiosity full stop. I feel like a kid looking in amazement at so many different things that I never noticed before.

Today I noticed how soft my dog's belly is!

You? What little thing have you noticed?
I really enjoy my cat's belly a lot. Now that I'm sober, he doesn't attack me when I do stuff like that.
