It really IS the little things! Name 1 little thing you notice now that you're sober!
Waking up without feeling my heart beating so fast I could feel it pounding in my chest.
Looking forward to work instead of thinking of excuses or feeling resentful I have to go in.
Love this thread, really made me feel proud to be where I am now.

I like making the rounds at night, locking the doors and turning out the lights downstairs before I go upstairs. I like the feel of putting on fresh clean pajamas and getting under sweet smelling sheets and covers.
When I drank, I passed out in my clothes, sometimes,,.(ok, more then sometimes,) I slept downstairs on the couch. Sometimes the doors werent locked... Occasionally one was even open in the morning. OMG
I also like the way my dog smiles when he is happy. (yes he smiles).

Am I the only one that is thankful for not having to worry about people smelling alcohol on my breath? I used to avoid talking to people or hold my breath when up close when it was like 11 am and I already had 6 beers.
Now I don't drink... plus brush, floss, and mouthwash at least 3 times a day so I don't have a worry in the world when talking to people. Opposed to maybe brushing my teeth once a day when I was drinking.

I notice how much easier the tasks of life are now. I mean how could I have agonized before about getting gas, or, doing laundry, or changing the sheets? These things require no real effort, theyre not a burden. In fact I am lucky to have sheets, a washer and dryer, a full tank. Before I not only took these things for granted, I bemoaned them. Crazy.
