kicking addiction #2

Anybody take on two recovery's at same time? Today I have 60 days sober and went to Dr. This morning to get chantrix for cig addiction. I've been drinking and smoking for 28 years. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Cigs are my last hold out. Don't want to jeopardize sobriety by taking on too much at one time

People here have different takes on this....I drank and smoked a little bit longer than you did...I asked the doctor about quitting both when I went into rehab...He told me I had enough on my plate with alcohol and to give it six months to a year before giving up ciggs....I'm glad I did....I have 15 months sober and 4 months off ciggs....I quit on the day I got my 11th month chip.

I have no advice on quitting smoking, but congratulations on your 60 days sober!

Let us know how the Chantix goes. One of my bestfriends started getting terrible nightmares and had to stop taking it. :/

I have been struggling with this too....my sponser says to wait until I at least get settled into my new apartment (which I am hoping to be in by November 1st) Best of luck to you. I figure if we can stop drinking ,we can stop anything if we put our minds to it
