This is my first day on my long road to recovery. I have spent hours here, reading stories and receiving warm and caring support and feedback. Thanks to this today, I've stayed dry, I've resisted my over-powering urges to run to the bottle. I'm just about ready to take the first step and go to an AA meeting in a couple of hours. I hope I can do it. I want to do it.

Glad you are with us. You can do it. Great move heading to a meeting!

I focused on putting one foot in front of the other, the first days, weeks.
Don't look ahead, don't look back.
Go to the meeting, focus on what you CAN do this minute.
Minutes add up to hours, days, weeks, months, a whole new you.

Let us know how it goes.
You will not regret going, most people are relieved & hopeful after going.
