Day 1 again

I stayed home from work today, as the anxiety and heart palps kept me awake most of the night. I drank before going to bed.

I will not miss the terror in the mornings before dawn, where you can't sleep and feel like crap.

I went to the gym, and worked out really hard about an hour ago. It is the only thing that makes me feel better. I had a healthy lunch, enough water to sink a ship, and feeling okay right now.

I have a lot of concern about not consulting a doctor before quitting. It is repeated often (for good reason) that quitting cold turkey is dangerous.

I don't have any withdrawal symptoms right now, but will keep a close eye on things.

The gym makes you feel good. Wish I could be bothered to go more often!

How much were you drinking? Moderate drinking it is fine to detox. Severe drinking , you are right - you should consult a doctor.

Anxiety is common even in mild drinkers, heart palpitations are horrible. I hate them. Always make me feel terrible.

Good to hear you are fine now, just try and relax and think positive thoughts :)

Thanks for your response. Yes, the heart palpitations are my least favorite by-product of this nonsense.

I was back to drinking nightly. Between 4-8 drinks nightly. So it wasn't moderate at all.

None of us are Doctors - and none of us should be saying any amount of alcohol is 'fine' to detox from.

That's very irresponsible advice.

If you're concerned C4G, please see a Dr - it's best to be safe.
