I'm sure it's different for everyone.....Probably three weeks to a month for me...I think some of that might have been nerves for me....I was very nervous in early recovery.

Dan23:

You're on day 7, right?

How much were you drinking before you quit?

Part of this could be the tail end of withdrawal, or if you were drinking heavily for a long time, some temporary nervous system damage, or completely unrelated to alcohol.

If it continues, see a doctor.

I shook for weeks also. And after my doctor doing test. Turns out I always will due to the nerve damage drinking did. But they are gone for the most part. Just every now and then it comes up..

I shook so bad in the mornings I couldnt write, eat, or even drink with one hand. For a decade I lived like that drinking.. This life is sooooooo much better..

Hi there
To be honest... with me, I was not only shaking, but kind of jerking! Was quite scary. I didn't really notice when my shakes went, probably a few weeks. Have a good meeting

I think it varies greatly by individual according to how much they drank and how susceptible their nervous system is.

At 4 months, my shakes are mostly down to a "dull roar," but there are still times that they are quite vexing.

I still get them sometimes after months. I think its psycological now. So used to them that it can just happen. But now I think its in my head, breathe and gain control.
