Starting over again

My 30 birthday was last week and I was not planing on doing anything but at the last moment, I just the gun. Went over a person place and got smash. Next day I went to a hotel and ran up a $550 bill. Now I got sober again and going to do the 90 meetings in 90 days. At least, it will remind me to not drink. Leaving in 30 minutes. Also gave my credit card to my parents, so I will not spend any money. I will get it back in 90 days.

Sorry to hear about your slip! It scares me how easy it is to find yourself in a bad situation- you never know what your trigger is going to be! Good luck and stay strong!

My sober date is Sept 23rd too!

Thanks for your post. I have done that a million times. In fact, I cut my credit card in two just so I wouldn't use it to buy booze. It didn't work tho as I just wrote checks at Safeway where they have an extensive array of cold white wine. I'm sick of feeling bloated and slow and tired and puffy and worn down. I want to live! And I want to live without always being preoccupied with where my next drink is coming from. I want to not waste money on booze binges and I want to feel physically good. It's been one day (and today's my second day sober) and I've lost 3 pounds! Best of luck to you and don't take that first drink!!

Sounds like you have a plan Action. Did you have a sponsor before? Did you do the step work? Sounds like those are keys to making AA work in addition to having a good home group where you are comfortable.

Wish I had taken my situation seriously at 30 but I didn't.Sounds like you can spare yourself a lot of suffering by getting the plan in action.

Best of luck and have a good 24

I am am glad you are still alive. I did the whole spend a ton of money wrecking cars thing. So glad I have a couple dollars these days that I don't have to eat out of a dumpster.
