Drinking again :/
Yup, started it up again. Oh man it was so hard to stay away, I swear people were against me one weekend. It was like free drinks happy hour, free beers, etc. I guess I am just to involved and want to be involved with it. I got on the level last night. I told a friend no more, but I guess since I got us females he was repaying me with beer and just bringing them to me. Since I hadn't drank in a while my tolerance was way down so after six I was ready for sleep.
I want to own my own bars and brew my own beer. I made a good contact with a new owner of a place and he potentially wants to be an investor/business partner when I start up. That would be helpful to me in many ways as he can show me what to do, and give me start up capital.
Well, I mainly wanted to let everyone know my status that supported me a couple months ago. I am sorry I let you down. I hope you are all well

Once I accepted that alcohol wasnt and
wouldnt work for me any longer, I had
to let it go. Drinking it, smelling it, handling
it, being around it, all had to out of my
recovery life.
Alcohol for me means Drunk

I used to work for Boulder Brewery, and Great Lakes Brewery.. That is the past..
I with sharon , I cant be around alcohol it just isnt a option anymore. My whole career as well as social life had to change. Wish you the best on those endevors.

I was confused by your post MesoFreak... As someone who at some point thought they need to quit drinking why would you want to work with the stuff? I know many a landlord who has drank his profits...

I have been in the fine dinning world for over 20 years. Culinary School in SF, worked for an Iron Chef. When I was in my 20's and early 30's I was on my way to owning my dream place..
Needless to say this clown wasnt even close to being finsihed with his act, and I lost everything in the world(all except my life which was next) due to the love of the "night life"..
I hope it doesnt take you to go that far before your realize what is what..

So many drinkers think owning their own bars and or
making their own alcohol is like finding a pot of gold...
Instead it's ggetting into a business that requires long
hard hours ....lot's of cash flowing out and a clear head.
Check on the failure rate of new bars
I've worked in all sorts of hotels/restaurants/lounges/clubs and bars.
The successful ones were not operated by drinkers.
I left the industry to protect my early sobriety.

God knows why you want to own your own bar if you want to quit drinking...I am an ex chef...An ex chef that had to quit the trade cos I was like a kid in a sweetshop everytime I went to work with all the booze that surrounded me...I know of quite a few chefs and bar owners that dont drink and they are all alcoholics....I think that tells you a little bit about the trade....

It sounds to me like you need to make some more changes in your life - people, places, etc. I know it's hard, but you can do it. Personally, the idea of owning or working in a bar would be a nightmare for me. It would take way too much energy.

I have to say I noticed that in your threads you often feel people are against you. I always felt no one liked me. So used that as an excuse to absolutely obliterate myself. Both drugs and alcohol. But they didn't. It was my way of hurting myself.
I want you to know that SR for me has been the most incredible collective of people that want nothing more than for all of us to be what we want to be and should be. So stick around this time. No one here is out for you.
It's no joke is right. It takes great humility for anyone of us to come here and admit what we do. What we did. How we treated others.
Your posting also shows humility. But remaining humble before what we cannot change is what's needed. Nothing less will do.

this reminds me of the guy who owns the liquor store I used to frequent. Almost every time I went in there he was "tasting" wine. Ya know where I recently saw him? An AA meeting. He had always drank, and it got totally out of control once he opened the store. Be careful.
