Sober 4 days i think..

Hello to everyone! Just trying to stay busy. Going through the nasty stuff, shaking, hallucinating, angry BUT today I'm sober and emotional but so thrilled to be here so I can be the best wife, mom, daughter to my awesome family. I was watching Intervention earlier and the counselor told the family that when the alcoholic father feels bad, he drinks but when they feel bad, they just continue to feel bad. Got me thinking..I've always tried to isolate myself from others so they couldn't see the inner ugliness. Drunken, bipolar b.s. I DESERVE to feel good and my family most certainly does. I'm scared but more scared of drinking again. My goal this week-come here every day, read and post. Even if just for a few minutes. The horizon whispered the sun today and I have SR to thank. Lets ALL be sober and healthy and enjoy the moment that isn't always there...XXXXXOOOOOOOO!!!

Glad to hear you are feeling positive despite those horrible symptoms!

Should you be seeking medical help though, those are pretty severe and would freak me right out

Ziney
Welcome and congrats on your sober time. Life gets so much better without the alcohol. Stick around, it is worth it!

I believe that quote is what has made the difference in me making it four days.
Fist bump on the four days and to many more.

I heard that quote on intervention last night, too. I thought it was great and definitely a good reminder that our family suffers along with us alcoholics.

If you are having hallucinations you need to go to the ER immediately. That is a big time withdrawal symptom. If you are already under a Dr's care, call him/her ASAP.

People die from alcohol and benzo withdrawal. You may have been on both.
