Just For Tomorrow

"Just For Today" is turning out to be a tough order. Is there a group for "Just For The Rest Of The Day" or "just for the next hour" Does anybody want to celebrate the success of me not using right now? Can I get a clear key tag for 1hour of clean time?

I feel like I'm going to white chip forever. But I'm not giving up. I'll be at the 12 o'clock meeting.

We get through sobriety like we get through life. Minute by minute.

Early sobriety is tough. Real tough. But the rewards will be reaped ten-fold.

Stay strong.

You can cut the "Just for Today" down to any time increment that works. Even now when different things, not even alcohol related, happen in my life that are tough to handle, I cut down the time to minutes or seconds.

Dear Voyager,

there are approximately 300 Sextillion stars in the universe - for every second that you stay clear, I will name a star after you ok ;?

Can you get out and walk/run or do anything exercisey to release those fab endorphins? Drink plenty of water as that activates the happy ones too.

You are not alone.

Good for you on day 3...Just try and not drink today...Minute by minute if you have to. Have you been reading up here about any kind of recovery plan you might want to try?

Voyager, it helped me to narrow my focus down to shorter and shorter time periods, from not drinking today, to not this hour, to not this minute. I finally decided that I would never drink now, sort of a mind trick. Surely I can not drink for a moment, right?

Whenever the urge came by to stick its finger in my eye to tell me again that I just had to have a drink right now, I could look at this urge, watch myself like a fly on the wall, notice the feelings I had around this urge, narrow my focus to the present moment, and then let the urge go away. And it did go away, every time. I can even tell you that it always will go away for me. Always.

I know with certainty that you can quit drinking. Of course you can, Voyager, anybody can. Believe that you can do it, and then do it!

This is awesome! Yes, congratulations for not using right now! Really, it's always right now. The past is gone, the future isn't here yet.
Let's have clean time right now! Thanks for this.
