I AM SO DAMN HAPPY!!!!!!!!

I live across the street from the bar I hung out in. People were inviting me out earlier and I kept saying no. They stopped by while I was on my porch.

When I saw them drunk it was an eye opener!

We always say play the movie in your mind... Well I started the movie at the end and the ending sucked!

I get to go to work to,or row sober and my first holiday sober weekend.

I am great full beyond belief!

Ken

I'm normally very non violent, but I like that image of AV being hammered (instead of us lol) and also of it shrinking-thanks Natalie! It does feel like we diminish it when we conquer the AV arguments.

Ken, I'm so proud of you for making it through the quadruple whammy of a long holiday weekend. Even though they are only days that end in Y, for most of us they are the social highlights of the week, and bring way more temptations and triggers. Getting through each night one after another is hard work...you did it with determination, a great positive attitude, and without whining to boot

I made it through the Labor Day party that I thought was going to be insanely difficult. Turned out it was very subdued this year, really not fun at all if I'm being honest with myself, and it was an open bar. Home and happy to be here. Excited I didn't let the AV win this round!

Seems to me if you've done a long weekend .. you can pritty much do any day in the year .
If you got through this weekend you can get through next week and it's end as long as you just keep plodding along , knocking those days out .

I found it tiring at first but slowly things change .. 3 days was ok 3 weeks was realy good , 3 months was stunningly different .

What a good start to the week to see you do this ,

Thanks Ken .

Back to another Sunday and this one is a big football day. Football watching with all it's triggers, not to mention the commercials. Stay strong everyone. Come here to vent.

Weasel, I was behind a car with the stick people stickers today and thought of you lol

You can always turn the football off and go outside , if football is the trigger ( i doubt you'll do that though )
I get simmalar kinds of triggers from old country pubs, to think people have spent the last 400 years in one room getting drunk then falling asleep in the fields on the way home gave it a kind of halcyon days timeless quality that appeals to me .

Thinking of you both and anyone else thats feeling it this sunday .. it's just another day and will be over soon enough if we just wait it out , it may "feel" desperate but that feeling can be "urge surfed" of just waited through . There is no good reason for an alcoholic to drink ,

Have a glorious Sunday ,

Bestwishes, M

Hey Fire! I was wondering how you were... you were not on much this week.

It is a spectacular day here... sunny and low humidity... planning a nice meal later... cooking relaxes me and keeps me occupied at "that" time.

I will be sure to check in during the day and evening....

I totally agree Weasel. Get the hands busy with something "wholesome".

I spent my day yesterday making fresh tomato sauce...and today I'm going to make a beauty lasagna.

Love pickled foods!

Today is first day of this NFL season. Normally Id be getting drunk starting with bloody marys right now. Instead Im gonna play some games online, watch a bit of some shows on netflix and cook all day. I may watch some ball but definitely not answering the phone today!

Happy sober Sunday everyone.

Yum Ken!

I tackled making my own pickled beets this summer...made them a few times..they are absolutely fantastic....brine making always intimidated me, but now I'd don't even peek at the recipe

Ken, maybe we should start an SR Cookbook?

I love challenging myself with new foodie stuff....feels great to step back and say I gave that a go whether it's fantastic or shite...it's all about the effort

Dude that is awesome! And those guys inviting you are going to be looking up to you and admiring you pretty soon, wondering if they can be as strong as you are.
