I recognize you...

This morning when i was getting ready for work i looked at that face in the mirror and i finally recognized the person that I saw. I wasnt scurrying to cover bags under my eyes with any magic potion, i wasnt dousing my eyeballs with visine, i wasnt ashamed to look at myself. This road that I am on is my road. i have not maintained perfect adherence, and for that I am not ashamed. This is all a learning experience. I am doing much better than i have been in the past and the last 3 weeks, my habits have changed quite a bit for the better. I am finding that I dont NEED the things i have NEEDED in the past, or had convinced myself that I needed! I need different things now. Quiet time on my chair, lurking on sr, reading stories, researching my grandaprents illness', and being happy with just being, Anyways, have a wonderful day sr! i know that I will! peace out!
:thanks

Congrats. It's been four days for me, but the feeling of waking up in the morning without a hangover and not having to vomit or dry heave has totally made sobriety for me worth it. I used to hate my myself on most mornings, but now i know if i don't drink i don't have to experience those feelings of self loathing first thing in the morning.

Thanks guys! I just feel like always talking about the negatives or failures only sets me in motion for a spiral, or a cycle. I'm remaining positive. Thanks again!

Congrats Chardonnay!! The only thing that matters is your journey and not giving up! Keep up the good work and whenever drinking gets on your mind think about looking in the mirror in the morning!!
