I love pininterest Rubes!

I always look at my daughter who is two and that makes me sad about my previous drinking.
All the time she likes to challenge herself.
Can she do her new jigsaw herself?
Can she do a tipple tail?
Can she put her own nightie on without me helping?
Can she invent a story in the bath that all her bath toys can be characters in?

And it makes me feel sad......

I know it's no harder to see things as a child does, but when did we all stop challenging ourselves? When did we all stop having an interest in things? When did we all stop wondering if we could do something and if we couldn't, trying our hardest until we could?
When did it become okay to sit on the sofa every night an drink ourselves into boring oblivion?

I'm not suggesting you cannot put your own nightie on or want to start doing gymnastics in your front room, but maybe you get my drift?!!

That first week is a doosey!!!! That is another reason I haven't picked up. I don't want to revisit it. It took me a while to want to eat again and to wear make-up, or even leave the house. I was a shut in for a few weeks.

Although, I thought of the bubble bath as washing all that grimy alcoholism off of me

Hang in there, it will get better!

By the way nice name-- I like that song Classic Rancid. I haven't heard it in ages.

Sasha, that's a very good point. It's really made me think about why I don't challenge myself like I used to. I think this is the same for every adult, at some point we get comfortable. Now I need to find stuff that is new an interesting and unknown.

MetalChick I like your name too ;-) Rancid are my favourite band (you might have guessed) but I'm a big metalhead too! I'm still hanging in there. I've been a lot more positive today. And I think tomorrow I will try and set small achievable goals so I'm not just moping around my flat.

Thanks!
