How to handle rejection?
It doesn't matter how much I try to work things out with those I love,
how hard I work my program and am getting better.. I feel pushed aside
and rejected by some.. I guess I should just leave them alone... How do I deal with this?

Are you sure they're rejecting you? How do you know that people haven't their own issues/agendas which have little to do with you?
I don't know your situation but I sometimes feel rejected by people too and it really isn't any fault of my own in most cases.
You're doing an awesome job of working your recovery, I'm inspired by the things you write.
You are a lovely person Candi x

No matter how hard i try, some things i have no power over,
No matter how good a person i make myself some people won't like or love me,
“Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
Bestwishes, M

That's a good life question not just a drinking question.
I agree with jeni. I have felt rejected only to find out that they had issues that had little to do with me.
In those circumstances where the rejection was real I have long adopted the idea that I am not a flavor that everyone likes. When I accepted that I accepted the rejection. It is what it is and trying to change it only compounds the rejection. So let it lay.
Focus on you...you...you!
