Facing Cravings Out Loud

I have found a little trick that seems to help me beat down the voices in really tempting situations. When someone asks if I want a drink, or asks if I'm going to drink, or whatever, I'm saying "no, I'd realllllly like one but I'm not going to"
or "I'd like about 10 of them, but I'm being good" etc. Something about saying it out loud and acknowledging the craving, while following it by an action that doesn't give in to it is helping me stay strong. Saying it out loud is taking away the power of the voices somehow.

I like it, that's a good trick :). Here are a lot of links to recovery skills and craving easing methods; SOS, LifeRing, SMART, CBT, Urge Surfing, DBT and AVRT
