Then you're in luck... not drinking has caused me to sleep like a baby. And I always used the excuse that I drank so I could sleep. So not true x

It takes a few weeks of sleepless nights before things get better though...

I think the topic was for all alcoholic with all different recovery programs. And not focusing one type recovery itself.

I ended up in hospital with liver disease, just before the ambulance came I was still drinking. I would write a thousand sonnets to put back the clock.

Sorry to hear that and I am in Sussex too. Have an aching liver but hope that is because I am not drinking.

$hit happens, and totally self inflicted, I don't warrant any sympathy I'm quite ok now though. I believe I have fatty liver or cirrhosis, but haven't had a drink for nearly a year and it is getting easier not to want to, especially when you have been to LiverLand, kind of puts you off it!
Lovely and warm here isn't it

Kza I needed the list because all I wanted to do was to sit and drink too! The list was for distraction! Then as time goes by u start feeling amazing, u stop craving less and less and then u start preferring to be doing things on your list than drinking! Living life it's called! With a clear head and a healthy body

When I found the list, it made me want to write my own. I have too many work To Do lists, and not enough personal and fun To Do lists. Probably that's the case for most people. Fun needs to be more of a priority in most lives!

KZA I agree, if you really want to drink there is nothing on that list that's going to distract or stop you. You'll just go back to drinking and deal with the fallout down the road. Now if you really want to stop drinking, pretty much anything on the list will be effective to distract or stop you.

12. Plan a garden
13. Plant a garden

151. Don explorer hat and venture out to find garden that must still exist somewhere underneath pesky mutant brambles.

152. Ask on a recovery website whether anybody knows if there is a method to kill off brambles for good... ?

It's the list that never ends really isn't it? Great post NFW

Sorry to hear you are feeling that way Kza.

Hey Kza, you should try speaking in heroic couplets for a while... it might at least make you smile. Especially if you record yourself and then play it back to yourself.

Make and bake bread. Kneading will keep your hands good and dirty and you can work out lots of frustrations in the process plus eat your results - with or without marmalade! Fun list of poisonless options - loved reading it.

160. Stop for a minute and enjoy the moment thinking how great it is to be sober.

Not very easy to do this in a very early recovery, but on day 201 it is possible.
