day 15 Hello again. It's day 15 here. Been sleeping a bit better, but I'm irritatable and short tempered, and sometimes I smell whiskey when it isn't there. Could be worse. Starting nearly every day with a 6 AM meeting. That's actually the best part of my day by far. Alright hope all's well with you all. |
I'm just on day 8 but I can relate to the irritability and short-temperedness. All in all the days do seem to be getting better though. Have a great day. |
Oh and a funny thing happened today. I had to get out of the office for a moment so I was sitting down the street having a smoke when a random guy came up and sat down. We started chatting, somehow it turned to drinking and using and he mentioned he has 14 months clean. He showed me his chip and then scrambled off slapping me on the shoulder as he went. Weird. |
Congrats! |
sometimes I smell whiskey when it isn't there Well done on 15 days :) x |
congrats Gincognito...hope the next 14 days will be even better :) D |
Good to see you're going strong! |
I like your story about briefly talking to a stranger and it turning to him saying he has 14 months sober. Synchronicity at work! Best wishes. |
Bump. Day 16. Love this new home group, no way I would have made it this far without them. |
Good for you...Every day you don't drink will get better. |
Bump! Day 18 here. Feeling manic and can't stop working, day 12 and 13 is coming right up. Went swimming for an hour after the meeting yesterday morning, lifting weights sometime today. Missed my 6 AM meeting and I mean I really missed it :( OK keep on keepin on everybody |
Glad to hear you're coping , Keep on going to those meetings if they work for you, your life may depend on what you learn and share , Day 18 :You_Rock_ bestwishes, M |
I love when that weird stuff happen! Coincidences?? Maybe.... Keep moving forward, it keeps getting better and better! |
Your doing so well. Keep up the good work. :c011: |
Day 20. Have a headache on and off three days. Cranky and lonely today. But I'm doing a much better job with recovery than in the past. Maybe I'm a little more motivated. One of the older guys pointed out that I'm relatively young at 35 but that I could easily lose some years if I relapsed and then I wouldn't be. I don't know but it sounds reasonable. So I'm going to at least 5 meetings a week, calling other alkies, networking and socializing and trying to make myself be of service in small ways. Plus I'm actually praying a bit which is hard to believe even as I'm doing it. |
Great update! Glad you are doing well. Or at least as well as anyone can be doing what we are trying to do. |
