Thanks for sharing your story!

What I learned from my (first) AA meeting from others in the group - the veterans - was that when you put the drinks down and never look back, you cross over in to a new world. We think that most people drink because it's all we know. But it's not true. It's a much bigger world and you'll find that most people out there are not drinking. It's a busier, happier, and more accomplished world, too.

Just thought I'd share.

Will do, I get down toward Atmore quite a bit, Mobile occasionally and the beach as often as I can.

Thanks again everyone for the kind words.... Day 15!!!!

New territory. I took my wife out for a nice dinner last night to celebrate.

Welcome to SR Raf,
Such a moving post. I shed a few tears. I believe if you want sobriety enough you can achieve it. I am sober today with the support of AA and SR.

All the best

Well, here we are at day 31..

Its been an interesting month. Still learning how to deal with my emotions, without alcohol.... Sometimes I feel like "Fun Bobby" from the show Friends. But my family doesn't agree so I guess thats a positive.

Things in general are better I believe, just wish I would feel better. I'm tired a lot, very lethargic.. Guess it just takes time...

Anyway, sorry for babbling, just figured I'd check in. Thanks..
