Day Two Here!! Feels good to feel clear minded at work, without feeling half asleep and hungover. Night 1 last night I was very antsy, didn't get enough sleep. But for me , getting through that first day ( for me again) is a big step...onward |
Great job Jedi. The first few days are real eye openers and it feels good to accomplish. Keep it going. |
How long does it take to see a difference in appearance, big red face to deflate..lose a little weight? |
Keep going! You can do it! Just say to yourself: "I am not drinking today. I don't know about the future, but today I am not." That is what one day at a time really means. |
Woohoo! Great news! Keep it up - it just gets better and better from here :) I think it takes a week or so to notice a difference in appearance... it all depends on how much you drank, but for me, it probably took a month before I REALLY noticed. I looked in the mirror and just thought 'oh my god, I actually have nice skin!' |
I never had the red, swollen face (except when angry :) ), but it took a few months for my old hopeless face to fade away. Keep it going, long continued sobriety is very much worth the effort. |
Jedi, I see you've been a member since Jan 2011. Are you attending AA meetings? All the best. Bob R |
I'm glad you're back and working on your recovery. |

I've been doing a low carb diet, though, so I'm sure that helps. I've lost 20 pounds in the past couple months, so it may not be related to no alcohol anyway. |
Welcome back to the cool side of the room ;) |
