Day 3 for the 3rd time in 3 weeks
Day 3 for the 3rd time in 3 weeks
Huge day ahead of me and I didn't wake with dread and anxious tummy! So glad I didn't let boredom and habit get the best of me last night. Thanks to all who helped with advice and suggestions. Day 3 for the 3rd time MUST be a charm right?!? ;-)

Thanks all. Is it normal for the mornings to be amazing and the evenings to be kinda or really blue? Just walked the dog and that helped but I just feel bone tired. Also a bit anxious about my house guests this weekend. Big drinkers. I am gonna go with honesty and keep it simple. Any suggestions on how to explain why you're not drinking without going into the whole story?
congrats on day 3! I think the evenings it's easier to get blue because we don't have a lot to do. Try to keep yourself busy, read a book, watch a movie, or go for a walk to break that boredom.
The Day 3 got me many times. I always felt better physically and mentally at that point, and so, it was so easy to fall back into the same patterns. I'm glad you got past it.
Do you feel that you owe people an explanation about your drinking or not? Part of my recovery was recognizing that I had to be true to myself and not worry about what others thought.

"They" don't live in your skin. You do. You will feel wonderful if you can make it through this weekend, if not, don't beat yourself up. Alcohol was my solution until I found a new one, but I had to be really ready to stay stopped.
Keep trying to stay stopped, don't beat yourself up, just be in the moment and smile.
I wish you well.
Love & hugs,

Thanks Sugerbear! Just got off the phone with my closest friend of over 20 years. Turns out she recently made the decision to quit drinking too. It was wonderful to actually talk to someone about it. I am feeling a bit more confident about this weekend and my future success. I will be checking in here often :-)
