Holy Hell...I just got drunk dialed!

Oh. My. Gawd.

I got woken up by a drunk dial. It wasn't one of those funny "you rock my world ones."

I get called at 11:30 w my friend bawling and not making sense. I honestly thought her mom died. It is now 1 AM and I finally got her to go to bed. She's a prof at a major university and is convinced everyone hates her and that she will be alone and die and no one will care. And that she doesn't matter bc she doesn't have kids.

I wonder if:
She will remember the phonecall
Call her therapist and tell him the truth bc she has been withholding info
Or get on some meds bc that was the craziest call I ever got

Holy crap I hope I never did that. My alarm will go off in 4 hours.

I finally got her to the point where I got some other fluids into her and made sure she was in bed.

She is one of those one and done drinkers. She drank 2 bottles.

Glad I am off the bottle. Peace.

As rough as it is on you, I'm glad she had someone like you to talk her down Orbea

You are a great friend, Orbea, for being there for your friend. Maybe she was subconsciously reaching out about her drinking, huh?

I agree - you are a very kind friend... she's lucky to have you around.

Drunk dialling... glad I'm not having to apologise for any more!

So, you've never drunk dialed anyone? I know I have. Not a good feeling to remember it. It's also very difficult to talk with someone who's been drinking, I know this. Sometimes Karma plays a part in my life. Ouch!

I assume when you said "two bottles" you didn't mean just 2 bottles of beer.... She probably doesn't remember too much of it as she fell asleep shortly afterwards. Maybe give her a follow-up call today and talk with her about what happened.

Have a peaceful day and know that you are sober today!

I may have buzzed called someone but not in middle of night bawling. She had 2 bottles of wine. She does not remember what she said.

What a great service you did for her. She is lucky to have a good friend who helped her in a time of need. Now get some rest and take good care of yourself.

She may not really be a one and done drinker. She may be someone who doesn't drink in public but drinks at home. She's lonely, scared, depressed, and turning to wine. I'm glad you were there for her-she really needed someone. I hope she can get some help from her therapist in resolving some of her issues.

We did the drink and dial game while drinking in groups, but I haven't done the solo cry for help in the middle of the night call. I could see it coming to that someday though if I didn't stop.
