Looking for a buddy

Hi everyone.

I'm hoping to meet some people to help eachother stay on track.
Someone with a similar problem as me.

My situation is like many I'm sure.

I'm really looking for some support. I don't think I can do it without some support from people who understand what it's like

Just a little information about my situation; I'm 29, work full time in a job I enjoy but find I have a bad habit of binge drinking on weekends. It's interfering in my relationship and quite honestly, I feel as though I don't have control over it, which is scary to me.
I have suffered from an eating disorder for the past year, but have battled body issues for as long as I can remember. *

I find I do these things when I feel a loss of control in my life.
I suppose i feel stuck in a rut that I fell into three years ago at the end of a seven year relationship and other things which occurred leading up to and after that point.
Just feel a little derailled and would like to work with you to get back on track and deal with these things so that I can feel better again and work toward the future I would like to see instead of continuing to faulter it.

Hey Meesha,
I'm 29 also and a bit of a binge drinker myself. In the past few years my drinking has progressed to the point where I would rather stay home and drink alone than go out and be around other people. Only within the past few months have I decided to take real steps to try and change it.
I drink because I feel lonely but I'm lonely because I choose to do nothing but drink alone. Its a vicious cycle!
I'm working with my doctor and a therapist and also studying AVRT to try and turn things around. That was a major step for me to seek outside help for my problem.
Have any ideas about how you want to get started with getting sober?

Good for you for wanting to address your problem with drinking - it only gets harder to quit as time goes on. You're definitely in the right place for getting tons of support! Glad you're here!:wavey:

If your looking for an online buddy then just SR for that. If your looking for an offline buddy then friend someone that is sober and you can relate to.
