Problem Solving W/O Wine

Yesterday I learned about a professional problem. It is precisely the type of stressful problem that would've had me picking out a pretty goblet at 4 pm! Sobriety did not prevent this problem, but I believe being sober will help me solve it better. If I'd started drinking wine, I'd have a hangover and a fuzzy mind....might have even "caved" and given this employee the answer they desire....which is not the best long term solution.

BTW - the problem is still not solved, but my resolve to not drink is still intact!

Yes! I find nearly everything that I do at work is easier when I'm clear headed and sober! It actually makes challenges interesting...!

Agree!!!

Family issues this weekend and today sucked. But not as much as drinking would have affected things.

Very very happy for you!

I am looking forward to a date when I can type this about my work life! Drinking has done nothing but make my stress at work increase and make me less able to make the most of my life outside the office. No more!

Continued best wishes.

blueshades, I'm sure you are looking forward to that day, and thank you for your good wishes. I was able to resolve the problem this afternoon. I was agitated afterwards, as I don't like conflict. I remembered reading many posts here that talk about waiting out the agitation - get busy - do something and the urge will pass. It is true, an hour later, the urge was gone...and boy was I glad I didn't reach for wine!!!!
