I realise now:
The hatred that I have held for myself. Today I have been sober for 27 long days. I have almost lost everything to find this path. I pray that the path to inner peace shall be swift. I wanted to share my poem as it has given me strength. I am going to my first meeting today as I cannot do this on my own. I need to understand what is happening/happened to me.
The Child in Darkness
Stop, this moment has been chosen
Forgive yourself
Love yourself
As part of the universe you have that right
Indeed the world is full of trickery
Do not allow this to be contained within you
Open your soul to the beauty that is forever intertwined within our world
Peace is asking for you
Life is asking for you
Energy wants you back
Difficulty and Sorrow want to keep you, to them say farewell. Thank you for the lessons
Strength has found its home safe within you
With this worlds wrongs and broken dreams
It is still a beautiful world

It took a while for my old negative attitudes and perceptions to fall away after I stopped drinking...but they did...please believe it will happen to you too.

I attended my first meeting this evening, I am sure this is where I am supposed to be. My life has been leading to this point. So many lost souls. I will find my strength through people the same as me. Thank you all for your kind words and for taking the time to reply. Peace.

Evening I just wanted you to know that I am 38 days in and today I have found real peace. I was offered wine tonight at a very polite social dinner which I refused without any trauma. I have enjoyed a beautiful evening in the company of really beautiful people which has been much more giving than alcohol can ever be. I love the greatness which comes with living through your emotions. We all know its hard but the good is amazing. There is a real cleanness to a pure conscious. I hope that makes sense. Good night I hope you are pushing through the wall.

We fear the worst – Yet we dare to dream
A faulty understanding imprisons us with distorted thoughts
Take captive every thought
Dangerous subtlety has executed - its technique flawless
As connections with the truth seem unreachable
Our awareness now granted - We finally see
Those self-created punishments
We created these thoughts – we control them as well
The conditioned mind angrily vents
Quietly confident we take back our souls
Lifted and freed from the misery bestowed
Take note - We missed you – We love you – We lost you – We found you

I can't help posting these, I hope you don't mind, I am sharing because I go through these emotions and when the dust settles the mixture of sounds we call words express the deepness and the heartache that recovery brings until we stable out. For me that may be some time as my adversary is devious although I will be victorious no matter how much punishment is given. Peace.
In the midst of the madness there is light
Consequential inability to foresee intense greatness
Until it reaches our soul and the explosion of feelings initiates the reason for the pain that we knew
The answers have been revealed
Passion bestowed upon us the gift for the punishments that we faced
Self-worth and serenity consume us now
Naivety no more, released from the spell
Challenge defeated goes back to hell
Our time, our place, our road that we sought
Glorious battle thus we were self-taught
Be proud when you get here, be proud you are you
Live for these moments, they are coming for sure
