Maybe the wrong forum but...

Hey,

I came here around 107 days ago, after being released from the hospital after trying to take my own life. I felt like alcoholism had defeated me. I was destitute- back at my parents, at my lowest ebb and totally conquered by King Alcohol. This site helped me when I was too ill to get to AA and treatment....but here I am, 107 days later. The longest I have done sobriety in 6 years. I am 24 years old, celebrated my last birthday sober (in June) and I just wanted to say thank you so much.

I tried and failed so much, but fingers crossed and with AA and other help, I can keep my sobriety going. I keep it in the day and when things get too much I say:

God *as you understand him*:

Grant me the serenity,
To accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

Peace out,

Steven

Hold on real tight to what works for you Steven. Something is definitely working. Don't let it go. It feels so good to read stories like yours. Best wishes to you on this journey.

my man, it is awesome to see ya have hope. dontever lose that!!

Abandon yourself to God as you understand God. Admit your faults to Him and to your fellows. Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny.

May God bless you and keep you - until then.
