Do other addictive traits relate to alcoholism?
I don't know that "addictive personality" has any validity as a clinical diagnosis. Although people can be predisposed to addiction - that's a complex mix of nature, nurture, choice and circumstance (in no particular order.)
But I do believe that low frustration tolerance and an inability to delay gratification are two markers for addiction generally.
However, in the end, it doesn't matter what the biology is. What matters: do you have a problem, and are you willing to put in the effort to fix the problem?
That's all that matters. The rest is just navel-gazing.
