new here 8 days sober

hi everybody, im new here. ive been eight days sober now, first time ive been sober so long in more than 5 years. (six days was my record)
ive been doing fine so far, just a bit of anxiety every now and then and ive been eating like crazy and craving sweets.

does anybody now how long it will take for my body and mind to go back to their "regular" state? (i drank everyday for the past three years)

thanks!

welcome Refreshed and Nick!

Nick, i was a couple of weeks before i felt "normal" and at 4 months i still crave sweets a lot. i keep fresh and frozen fruit on hand as well as ice pops. those helps a ton. i can't say much about actual eating habits since i have an eating disorder as well so my eating habits were and are abnormal. the sweets craving though wasn't there as strong until i quit drinking. i don't crave fats or things like chocolate. just gummy type sweets and high sugar like fruit flavored things...heh, i have some Now and Laters next to me right now. they're definitely more Now than Later.
