I think there was a recent thread on this same thing and a lot of great comments were made.
For me, I got a lot of help from a lot of people in AA, but it was so helpful to have only one person taking me through the work.
I need to be careful that I dont go "fishing" for the answers I want to hear. I run all of my big decisions and anything regarding step work by my sponsor. It does the trick for me.

I only have one sponsor with whom I worked the steps and continue to work with daily for most spiritual guidance and perspective.

However, there are a few other individuals who have something specific that I want (spiritually) and I have worked with others when something like that occurs.

Yes I recently posted this same topic, you'll find a lot of good answers there. Here is the link for you: http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...same-time.html

You have as many sponsors as you need. You decide. I had two for part of my sobriety. They both know about each other. One doesn't always understand the particular issues you need to work through, but the other does.

For most of my sobriety though, I've only needed one. Totally your call. You need to do whatever is necessary to get your sobriety. If that means 5 sponsors, get 5.

I use whatever or whom ever I need to
learn to stay sober each day. Even with
21 yrs sobriety, I need to hear your own
experiences, strengths and hopes of what
like has been like before, during and after
your drinking career.

I use the fellowship of recovery as my sponsors
and visa versa. You are here for me and I for
you.

A perfect question to ask your sponsor.

All the best.
