The power of song
The power of song
I consider myself a spiritual person. So I listen for hidden meanings as if I will hear what I need when I need it.
This morning on my way to work I heard three songs in a row.
Drug songs I call them.
For me nickelback, kid rock, and Santana have songs that bring me back to specific drug moments. I listen to them a lot doing X so I had a bunch of memories to draw on.
The power of music is amazing. It was like i was in that moment.
I know this is the same with songs from my teens. John Denver, queen, Styx, billy Joel. There are songs that take me back to my 8track mounted in my 72 mustang fastback. Wow...
Then the 4th song that came on after the drugs songs was a pink song. I love her too but never paid attention to the lyrics much.
There was a line in the song "never thought I could feel this good sober"
I could not help but put them all together.... What was... And what is.
I guess I just made another moment to go back to.
Have a happy sober day everyone!

Eminem Deja Vu
This got me looking for some other songs. Eminem Deja Vu seems to be very like many people's experiences on SR.
I appreciate Eminen is not everyone's favourite artist, but this song really seems to hit the nail on the head.

Cov, I will listen tonight. I like enimen.
Kid rock is really bad for me. Nearly everything is drug related. They don't play him much on the radio so it surprised me this morning to hear three in a row.

Song is very powerful for me as well. Some say that the sense of smell has the greatest strength in reviving memories, and catapulting you back to a place in time.
For me, this is song. I posted the lyrics to Bod Mould's 'Beautiful World" awhile back. Believe it details his sobriety. Love it.
Blessings to you this morning.
