Nowhere to Go but Up
After a scary run in with being drugged on Saturday by a trusted so called friend I've realized how much of a problem drugs and alcohol have become in my life. I thought I could handle this on my own and quit cold turkey with no professional help or intervention. A friend of mine passed away last week due to heroin addiction and it's all become too real of the path I'm going down. I'm out of control and I hate who I've become and what I am. I've made the decision to try out NA because at this point I know I need help.
I hope you are OK.
Congratulations on making the decision to change your life. NA sounds like a great starting point. As is coming here - SR is a great place to be, there is so much experience here and LOTS of support.
Welcome and remember - you can do this

I'm glad you've decided to live a sober life. I'm sorry about what your 'friend' did to you, but I think you might find that it takes a lot of changes in our lives in order to recover, including friends.
