Non-Alcoholic Drinks Competition
Dear All
I spent my second weekend without drinking :-) YES!
I have discovered another weapon in my arsenal against alcohol.
Lemon + Hot Water + Honey. It's a nice drink!
People asked if I was ill ah ah ah ah
Could you please suggest any other interesting non-alcoholic drink (besides diet coke and others) - I mean cool tasty stuff, that we can actually order easily at a bar.
Let's open a competition for about 2 weeks, and then we vote the best drink after trying ALL of them. Who is with me? I need crazy people who like to have fun with non-alcoholic drinks and who still enjoy going out dancing like!
I had the best Saturday of my entire life! I met a girl with the best eyes I have seen in years....

I love orange juice and lemonade, orange juice and cranberry juice mixed, soda water and lime. Those are the ones I can think of that would be easily found at a bar.
When I'm at home, I make 'mocktails' quite a lot. My current favourite is to chop up strawberries, lime, lemon and grapes, put it into a jug and pour in sparkling water. I leave it for a couple of hours until the water has turned to a pink colour, then pour into glasses over ice. Then I garnish the glass with a slice of lime and a strawberry. Beautiful and delicious! (and also very healthy!)

Good for you on a sober Saturday!
I don't drink soda/pop because I don't like it so usually end up drinking just plain water if I'm somewhere alcohol is served. (And tipping well to compensate for only drinking water!)
Occasionally a "virgin Mary" - bloody Mary without the vodka - is good, with lots of tobasco hot sauce added. Or grapefuit juice mixed with sparkling water, or cranberry juice.
Come to think of it, are there any bartenders or servers on here? I imagine a good bartender will have ideas for some tasty non-alcoholic drinks!

I'm a fan of shirley temples and have no shame ordering them at 31 years old haha... It's just orange juice, seven up, and grenadine.
I also just like the simple... Water with ice cubes. Before I put the water in the glass, I put a little sugar and lemon juice on the ice cubes and swirl them around when I put the water in. So refreshing!

Best drink I've had was when I went to visit my gf in the Philippines earlier this year, my girlfriend doesn't drink and she didn't want me to drink either and I didn't for the whole month I was there.
The drink is called Halo Halo. It has ice cream and a lot of chopped up fruit in it and everywhere we went we had one and they were different everytime. I guess its more dessert than drink but I always ordered one instead of a drink, the heat really helps you want one too

Iced tea or coffee, Lime and Lemonade, Coconut water, freshley squeezed OJ, mango juice, grape juice, cherry juice or just good old plain water with loads of ice and a chunk of lime.....
My list is endless to be honest. Everytime I go to the supermarket I patrol the soft drink aisles for new things. I am not a huge fan of Pepsi etc so I am always on the look out for something a bit different...
Loving this thread - I am sure it will give me loads of new ideas....

1/2 sugarfree (or non sugarfree) energy drink, 1/2 grapefruit juice, splash of grenadine, over ice with a cherry. Tastes like candy and mixes so well it's hard to tell what's in it. Try it and tell me what you think.

On Sunday I will give you my first feedback on the drinks you suggested. I will ask the barman to prepare them for me :-)

i am so awful! i love the Crystal Lite Mojito flavored mix, lol! i wasn't a big cocktail girl because i rarely went out to drink but i love that stuff. i'm going to start freezing it into ice pops.
