Good Morning to my SR friends :)
 

Wanted to post a quick update. My parent's visit was so enjoyable. Without the haze of wine, I was able to cook, go out to dinner, swim in the evenings and enjoy late night treats watching tv with my mom and daughter. Simple pleasures I've deprived myself of when drinking wine.

I glanced at the wine bottles in the grocery store the other day....wondering if I'd ever have another glass. I stopped that thought ASAP and told myself how much better I feel with the commitment to NEVER drink alcohol again. That simple affirmation made me smile to myself, and push my cart ( and myself) forward.

I mentioned in my first post that my dad quit drinking when I was 16 and I'm now 54. I told him during his visit, I was finished with all alcohol. He had tears in his eyes. He said it was very hard and sad for him to see me on a path that would not end well, but he knew it had to come from within me. Wow.

I hope everyone here has a good day and is able to find some simple pleasures in it. Kim
