I reached out and had a great time with fellow AA member
Saturday night I was all excited to go to a meeting and when I got to the Church I was told the meeting was cancelled due to Interfaith so I was pretty bumme so I texted one of the women in my network and the next day we talked. She later picked me up for the Sunday evening meeting two hours early so we could chat while she did her coffee committment. She lectured me on reaching out to others and how vital it is. She also asked me to go to the AA firemans picnic the Sunday after next so I will be going to Church with her and also the picnic with many other people from AA I know.
While we were talking last night one of the girls my sponsor keeps trying to get us together called me and we chatted for awhile and I invited her to the picnic. I also invited her and another girl to my house for coffee.
My sponsor is also giving me worksheets based on the second step they remind me very much of cognitive behaviorial therapy but in a spiritual sense. She really seems to get what I need. She knows my triggers and knows I have to work on my emotions and impulsivity its like a Cognitive therapist and sponsor combined. We just went over Step2 worksheet and she told me I am very insightful and I def get the first two steps. She also knows right before my time of the month is when I am very prone to a relapse which is good bc my emotions are all over the place. The worksheets she is giving make me realize I am not alone and many other alcoholics have the same exact feelings I am not so unique LOL.

I love working with my sponsor, she is so much more knowledgeable about alcoholism than I am. She has been sober since 1975, I have been sober for 6 months.
I am working on my 4th and 5th steps now, but I have always got to keep step 1 up there front and center - I am powerless over alcohol, it makes my life unmanageable.
