AA and not having a God.......
Thanks everybody - as always your advice is invaluable. I like the idea of the 'rooms' being my higher power, or AA itself. I'm so happy to be a part of AA and I will never preach my atheism to anyone - it's not the atheist way :-)
I took my husband to an open meeting last month (he is a militant atheist - loves Dawkins and Hitchens, named our dog Darwin etc) and he said he was humbled by the peace and hope in the room and wasn't it a shame that there wasn't something like that for people who aren't alcoholics, I said I'm pretty sure that that's church!!
Anyway, thanks again guys. I will continue with my journey and focus my higher power on the rooms x
